Chasing the sun and palm trees, I moved to Florida, excited for a fresh start in paradise. I found that and so much more as I rebuilt my life and gained confidence with every new adventure I took on. Every time I saw a palm tree, I told myself, "I have to live here." I have lived in Delaware for most of my life and worked as an executive assistant and corporate event planner. One of my bosses used to have me do events in Miami and other parts of Florida, and every time I came down here, I felt a pull toward the palm trees and sunshine. They were calling me!

I finally moved to Florida in 2017. Although my husband and I spent many great years together, it was time for both of us to start new chapters. My friends and family were very supportive but didn't believe that I would actually leave Delaware. In July, I packed up my things and relocated to Bradenton with nothing but my clothes, memory boxes, a television, and my dogs, Jools and Candice.

A high school friend of mine suggested an apartment complex on Perico Island in Bradenton, and as soon as I saw it, I fell in love and signed the contract. While I never expected to be restarting my life at 50, it was liberating and exciting to pay my own bills and do things on my own for the first time.

Growing up, my family helped instill in me a lot of confidence, which played an important role in my move to Florida. My father was a big character, and I followed in his footsteps. I have no issue with being outgoing and speaking in front of people – I love making connections and putting myself out there!

From a young age, I have always loved houses. I would spend hours looking at all the different features and layouts, imagining how people would decorate them. I always knew that I wanted to be involved in real estate, and my dream finally came true when I moved to Florida.

The first year was a bit challenging as I was adjusting to the lifestyle and meeting new people. However, I was determined to make the most of my time here. I spent countless hours driving around the West Coast of Florida, checking out different towns, and making connections with people.

It didn't take long for me to make friends, especially with the strong community I found in Bradenton. Friends can get together on any given day just to hang out and enjoy nature, and I cherish those moments. Through real estate, I’ve been able to help my friends realize their dreams of home ownership and developing a life in paradise.

Jools, my beagle, has been with me through it all and even made the move here with me. Shortly after, my daughter Jessica moved down and lives here with her husband, Kevin. She's a nurse at Sarasota Memorial Hospital, and he's an electrical equipment sales representative. My son, Joey, lives in Manhattan, starting his career in real estate development, and I couldn't be prouder of him.

I can't believe this is my life – it's everything I wanted and more! Moving to Florida has brought me so much joy, and I am grateful for every moment I have spent here. It was a true test rebuilding my life here, but in the end, I wouldn't change a thing. Everything happens for a reason, and now I have a deeper appreciation for the relationships I have and my ability to bring my dreams to life.

Real estate has been a big part of my story since moving to Florida. I consider myself a relationship-oriented person who prioritizes developing a connection with people over closing a transaction. I believe in helping people and building a rapport with them, even if it doesn't lead to a sale. When I moved to Florida, I was excited to make friends, and now, many of those friends have turned into clients because they know my character and trust my integrity.

One of the things I love most about real estate (and there are many) is the special privilege of being a part of people's stories. I have had some memorable experiences with my clients.

When you are buying or selling, it is usually because something big is happening in your life. From couples finding their first home together to growing a family or downsizing and becoming empty nesters, I get to be there for it all. No matter what phase of life you are in, I am here to help you as your REALTOR® for life.

Sincerely,
