Facing a life-changing diagnosis, I was determined to persevere, motivated by my family and the beautiful life we created, one filled with love, purpose and joy. The challenges I overcame did not define me but became a source of strength.
During the final weeks of my pregnancy, I experienced alarming signs—gaining rapid weight each week toward the end of my pregnancy and persistent back pain. Worried about the abnormality, I voiced concerns, but it was brushed off as being a normal part of pregnancy. Already having experienced pregnancy with my children, Natalie and Emmitt, I knew something wasn’t right. I made it clear that, before leaving, I wanted them to ensure I was going to be okay, and they did.
Just three days after having Huntley, I was struggling to breathe and rushed to the hospital. As I walked in, I started to code with my newborn baby right there in my arms—I was in heart failure. When I was stabilized, they informed me I had cardiomyopathy, a byproduct of my childhood cancer treatments.
Diagnosed with cancer during my childhood, I endured a challenging journey from the age of 7 to 10. We went to the hospital 188 times, my parents and three sisters always by my side. The love that surrounded me was a constant source of strength.
These early experiences shaped not only my mental toughness but also gave me a new sense of gratitude for the simple yet profound blessings of life. The medical staff was also a big part of my recovery—I wanted to help people like they helped me.
After undergoing cancer treatment, I didn’t know if I was going to be able to have children. Natalie, Emmitt and Huntley are my greatest blessings, a constant reminder of how fortunate I am for this beautiful life. When I had Huntley, I was put to the ultimate test, trying to help him, a newborn, adjust to the world while I faced my own battles.
It forced me to push myself in ways I never imagined, caring for my kids and caring for myself, all while working to provide for us. During this time, my fiancé and our family and friends continued to be a source of strength, supporting me through every high and low.
My career in real estate became a lifeline during this time. I was able to keep my business running, maintaining client connections and providing an income as I grappled with my diagnosis.
It was wanting to provide a great life for my children that initially inspired me to get into real estate. I sought a career that not only aligned with my passion for people but also offered the flexibility necessary to be very involved in their lives. Land sales offered financial stability, personal fulfillment and flexibility. Not to mention, I love nature and viewing the available plots of land with clients. It is always an adventure. Over six years, I built my career in real estate, taking a big step into the residential side, too.
In 2024, I underwent heart surgery, where the doctors mapped out my heart with wires that would send electrical impulses to keep my heart functioning properly. I’m proud of all I have overcome, and I know it makes me stronger in every facet of life. These experiences have also given me a profound empathy for others. When my clients come to me, they are often experiencing their own significant life changes. Approaching the process with care, compassion and a genuine desire to serve, I hope to make every client experience exceptional.
In this new chapter, I’m filled with excitement and joy. With my amazing family, a career I love and a life filled with incredible people, I have found a true sense of fulfillment and purpose. As a family, we prioritize quality time together, boating, being out on the water and enjoying the beautiful nature this area has to offer.
Real estate is a people business, first and foremost. I have a natural ability to connect with people and build relationships. That continues to be the cornerstone of my approach: listening to and understanding the needs of my clients on a deeper level, offering a true partnership through the buying and selling process.
My experiences in real estate have been shaped by a deep understanding of the emotional intricacies involved in property transactions. Every client I encounter becomes a part of a shared narrative, whether it's the realization of a long-term goal, the pursuit of an investment opportunity or the intricate process of navigating familial changes.
My ability to forge genuine connections with my clients allows me to guide them with empathy and authenticity. Even after the transaction is over, I remain a dedicated partner to your journey as your REALTOR® for life!
Sincerely,
Haley Finney
